This was a big weekend for basketball. It all started Friday night in Echo against Dufer (it always makes me giggle when I say Dufer). Echo went into the game a little nervous because they knew that Dufer was going to be one of the three hardest schools they would play during the regular season.
It was a tough game just as they had expected. They played battled for every point. At the beginning of the fourth quarter it was all tied up at 50 points each. I didn’t have any nerve that was not frazzled by the end of the game.
During the fourth quarter Ryno went up for a rebound and had 3 rather large players from the other team come down on top of him and caused his should to temporarily dislocate again. The good news is that it popped right back in. It still hurt pretty bad and caused him to be out the rest of the game. The good news in all of this is that Echo won by 2 points in the last 10 seconds of the game. I am telling you between Ryno getting hurt and how close the game was, I am sure I have twice as many grey hairs as I did going into the evening.
Saturday we were not planning on Ryno playing. This was very concerning for Echo because they had to face a private school out of Hood River that because it is private usually has a pretty stacked team. They seam to recruit some awesome players and tend to dominate the league every year. Echo was not expecting a win, but was hoping to at least compete with them this year. That is before Ryno got hurt.
Ryno had plans of his own however. After the game Friday night he and his dad got on line and researched possible braces that might allow him to play with more protection to that shoulder. After hours of research they were able to locate a brace in The Dalles that happened to be on the way to the game. The bus topped and they picked it up. To make this very long story shorter Ryno got his brace and played in the game. He only had 8 points, but was excited to get to play at all. Echo lost the game that night, but only lost by 6. We will probably see that team again in the play-offs.

Cameron told us that Ryno had seperated his shoulder again, the poor guy!
His team must really appreciate his talents to stop the bus on the way to the game to get a brace for him!!!
That kid's got some moves! Great action shots! I never realized how exciting it was to watch your kids play sports. Coleman started AAU this year...what a RIOT!!!
Remind me to tell you what Hal said...
What a weekend! Sorry they lost the last game, I hate how private schools can pick and choose, but to only lose by 6 points!! I bet the boys were very proud of themselves.
